Just Checking In
Hi folks!
Just checking in from Sao Paulo.
I haven't had any time to walk around but my first impression is that Sao Paulo seems like any other American city. The standard of living is higher than I expected but then again, Sao Paulo is supposed to be the commercial capital of Brazil so things here shouldn't be an accurate reflection of the entire country.
I had lugged along my laptop and my Blackberry to Brazil and surprise surprise, neither of them work. There's no internet access available in the hotel rooms (even though there's a cable and all) and the stupid O2 network doesn't have any tie-ups in Latin America so the Blackberry is useless as well. Great, 4 kg of mechanical crap for nothing. And now, I have to pay (ok my company has to pay) almost 17USD for 30 minutes of internet access. Which, of course, I'm wasting on blogging but that's another story altogether.
Okie dokie... time to grab dinner. Back in a week!
