The boss-woman placed an ad in the papers over the weekend to hire some household help. And for the past day the phone's been ringing off the hook as the floodgates of job seekers have opened. Since my colleague was obviously swamped with answering the calls, I've been helping out with some of them.

Word of advice: If you're answering an ad in the papers, make sure you know who the contact person is and what the job is about. And make sure you introduce yourself first, so that people know who they're speaking to. Throw in a "Hello" or a "Good morning" for extra brownie points.

Don't call and say: "Ah, you are hiring a... a..., you're hiring, is it?"

Dumbass. We'll definitely be sure to call you back.
