I don't know why*
but lately I've been filled with the urge to take classes where I can either learn to kick someone's ass or shoot things. So I checked up on kickboxing classes and archery classes. Next up on my list is a visit to the Singapore Gun Club to get some hands-on experience with a firearm.
I wonder what the range** of a sniper rifle is... 500 metres as the crow flies? With the proper equipment I could take someone out from my office, just like Captain Scott Mitchell from Ghost Recon. A sniper rifle with telescopic sight, a silencer and some armor-piercing bullets should do the trick pretty nicely, I suppose.
"Mission accomplished, Sir!"
Hahaha. Kidding lah. Don't get all worked up. 'tis a good sign when I can joke about things; it's not like there's latent anger in me.
Though I wasn't kidding about the kickboxing (which I've always wanted to take up) or the archery (ditto) or the gun club, but all this will happen after softball ends in August. The boss-woman is thinking of organising a company day at the Gun Club. Heck, if we can't outperform the competition, we can just shoot the competition. Heh. Maybe that should be our new company motto from now on.
40 minutes more before the weekend begins! Tonight, it's boozing at Harry's followed by dinner and a movie; tomorrow it's dinner with family followed by boozing/hanging out at Altivo. And of course, Les Bleus vs the Azzuri on Sunday. Woohoo!
Oh, and I just got this in my email:
'A crazed anti-soccer fanatic has caused chaos in Berlin by chaining concrete-filled footballs*** to footpaths. Two fans suffered broken toes after attempting to imitate their World Cup heroes. "Whoever sees one of these balls chained up, please ignore your instincts to kick it," a police spokeswoman said.'
Hahahahaha. Happy Friday everyone! :D
* I lie, I do know why.
** Just checked it out, it can be more than 1 km though with a silencer it goes down to 300-400 metres. Amazing what kind of information you can get on Google nowadays.
*** I wonder how you fill footballs with concrete? I imagine this guy probably spent A LOT of time with needles and a whole bucketful of the grey stuff.
kickboxing!!! doit doit!

Posted by: Jason Lim at July 14, 2006 04:17 AMDes, your killer chortle from the throat is more leathal. LB (don't pretend you forgot your nickname, Des and I certainly won't) I toook an archery course at CDANs last year. Fun! I pretended I was Electra shooting with deadly sniper aim. Tho' I don't have a red bustier, I thought I was quite cool.
Ever your special,
