Went
to the Coldplay concert last night and it was easily the best concert I've been to in a while. It sure beats the last concert I went to hands-down, but then again it might have been the company as well... Great music, great atmosphere, good crowd. The band played for almost 2 hours so it was pretty good value for money, unlike the Blackeyed Peas concert where they showed up almost 2 hours late and played for just slightly over an hour.
Amongst my favourites:
I was scared, I was scared
Tired and under prepared
But I wait for it
If you go, if you go
Leave me down here on my own
Then I'll wait for you
Everytime I hear this song I think of studying for the CFA. Hah.
Then there's this one:
Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start
And finally: It took you long enough. I was surprised; I thought it'd have been one of the first things you would do. But then again, I'm a poor judge of character as these past few weeks have blatantly demonstrated. So, who's the angry one now? :P
Posted by scrabbyfoo at July 11, 2006 03:22 PMI went to four shows in June -- Jackie Greene (blues guy), Bruce Springsteen (two days in a row on the Seeger Sessions tour) and Keane. This month, we're going to Guster, Ray LaMontagne and Lollapalooza. We went to Coldplay last year -- it was outdoors in podunk Wisconsin. I enjoyed myself, but didn't think the show was that good in the grand scheme of things. I thought it was a little too choreographed and they were trying to channel U2 -- also, it was also just over 90 minutes. After we spent 2.5 hours driving up there and another 1.5 hours waiting to get into the parking lot! jesus fucking christ.
