Today's
lunch was one of the more interesting lunches I've had in a while, and it happened totally by chance.
My sister and I decided to check out the new food court at the Botanic Gardens so we headed over there at around 1315. Since almost everyone else in the Orchard area had the same idea, the place was packed and we had to share a table with these 3 fairly elderly dudes. Somehow or other we started chatting and to my surprise we actually got along really well. Sure, the topics we touched on weren't anything out of the ordinary, but someone from another table would have thought the 5 of us had known each other for ages, from the way we talked.
The probability of meeting any of these people again is practically nil, but at least for 1 hour today our lives intersected. It's these random moments of touching other people's lives that make my day because it helps to know that someone else is just a smile away.
As for the food, well, I think the food court's going through teething problems. The food quality's ok but waiting times tended to be on the long side. After a couple of weeks when the initial rush has settled down, things should improve.
