So much
for a nice quiet relaxing weekend at home. What was supposed to be a chill-out weekend with an emphasis on a healthy lifestyle turned out instead to be one of the more entertaining weekends in a while, and all of it on a spontaneous basis.
What was supposed to happen
1. Mountain biking on Saturday
2. Early morning run on Sunday
3. Mid-morning softball game on Sunday
What actually happened
I ended up meeting a friend for dinner on Saturday, after flaking off on the mountain biking. My excuse: improper tyres, greyish skies and a trail that was definitely not for a beginner like me. In the end, it turned out to be a great decision cos dinner led to a night out at Butter Factory.
Butter Factory's a pretty nice place but man, the drinks are WEAK. Rum and Coke? More like Coke and Coke. The only drink that was respectable was the green tea whiskey combination; the rest was just watered down. As for the music, even for a non-dancer like me, I have to say it was pretty good. I was planning to stay till midnight at the very latest but in the end we ended up staying till 4am. And yes, I was dancing without the influence of alcohol. Hahaha.
So I ended up only doing 1 of the 3 things I had planned to do and yes, we won the game. All in all, it was a great weekend. I made a couple of new friends (what is with me and guys in uniform?), crossed some stuff off my to-do list, played softball and got a tan. Whoohoo. This probably explains why I came into work this morning all bright and cheery instead of feeling the usual Monday blues.
*grin*
