So
here I am in Goa, which reminds me a lot of Mauritius. We're staying at the Taj Exotica for our offsite and the resort is just lovely. 53 acres of lush greenery with the sea right by our doorstep. Tomorrow morning I'm going to wake up to palm trees and the sea behind that. Yay!
Thankfully I was on the later flight, which left at the slightly-less-godforsaken hour of 0630 this morning. We all had to meet in the lobby at 0515 (compared to the other group, at 0415) and fight the hassle of domestic travel in India for the next 40 minutes. Then, when we had finally boarded we were told that there was bad weather in Goa so our flight sat on the tarmac for the next hour and a half. The good news - the other half of the team, who had gleefully looked forward to an extra hour of sitting by the beach, actually had to turn around and head back to Mumbai due to the bad weather. In the end they took off AFTER us and we got there more than an hour earlier. Hehe. Poor saps.
I'm so glad to be done with the formal part of the conference. My group did 16 meetings in 3 days, which is better than some of the other groups so I'm not complaining. But still, it's good to not be in a suit and high heels the whole day. And we just have one more day of internal meetings left and then it's party, party, party. Yay!
Okie dokie. Time to get ready for bed. Later, 'gators.
