It's 1730 and
I've just finished my first initiation report in ages.
I hate writing these things, I really do. It used to be so much easier when we had free rein to write it in whatever way we wanted. But no, as with every corporation, once you get to a certain size procedures have to be implemented and followed so that there's some standardisation. So now we all have to follow a certain outline when writing these reports and the outline is SO STUPID that basically I gave up on writing them. Ah, the tyranny of size...
But bitching aside, it's when I find nice new exciting ideas that I rediscover the reasons for sticking at this for so long. I walked out of one meeting a few weeks ago grinning from ear to ear because I knew I was onto a winner. It was at that moment that the phrase "banging the table" really had some meaning for me, and I felt reinvigorated. Fast forward 6 weeks and the model's up and the report's filed. Efficient, by my standards.
So yeah, I do love my job. Even though I bitch about it a lot and can barely drag my sorry ass in on time, I do actually enjoy what I do. Plus, the perks (one of which I will be enjoying this Saturday) are good :D
We're more than halfway through the week! Hang in there!
