You Learn Something New...

... everyday, as the adage goes.

I learnt something new when a brief moment of hilarity ensued in the office yesterday.

We were all gathered around the phone, ostensibly participating in the daily conference call. Of course, as is our daily practice, once we were done with our turn we merely muted the phone and started talking.

Yesterday's comversation somehow meandered to the topic of balding males, when my Indian colleague remarked that he had not seen many bald Chinese men. Another colleague then said that maybe the gene for balding in Chinese men is less dominant and then she asked abt the incidence of balding amongst Indian men.

My colleague confidently replied: "Oh, it will not be a problem for me. My dad is in his sixties and still has a full head of hair!"

He was promptly informed that the gene is passed on from your maternal side.

Whereupon a look of horror crossed his face and he went "Oh SHIT."

Teeheehee. Apparently his maternal grandfather was bald as a coot. After that, he kept caressing his hair as if to make the most of it while he could.

Good thing it's not that big a problem for females! :)

eh, knock on wood! my hairdresser told me that many women have come to him complaining about balding. (all asian) said that when they were young, they had really thick and dense hair, now no more.
