Silly Girl makes her
first ever trip to Tokyo! Ohayo gozaimasu! Hai!
Silly Girl discovers the wonders of the heated toilet. Ahhhhh, shiok. It's really nice to sit on a warm seat even if the room is a nice toasty 24C. The amazing toilet also does other tricks, like shooting water up Silly Girl's bum. Teeheehee. It also plays music that sounds like flushing water to hide the tinkle sound of pee and the plop sound of poop.
Silly Girl also abandons herself to the pleasures of Japanese food. Tonkatsu from a hole in the wall near her hotel turns out to be pretty darn good, whilst ramen under the train tracks is super yummy. A bowl of beef udon at Narita Airport leads Silly Girl to wonder why she doesn't eat udon more often. Best of all, MOSBurger! Silly Girl has a Cheesy Burger with Special Sauce and it is almost the best burger she's ever had. Silly Girl even licks up the special sauce from the wrapper.
Finally, Silly Girl gets to see the sakura up close and personal. Yay! Silly Girl decides that she likes Japan and will wanna visit more often. :)
Silly Girl
has been using this Blackberry for more than a year and only discovers that she can access the web LAST NIGHT. Silly Girl is truly silly.
But, Silly Girl is also now truly mobile! Silly Girl is sitting in the cafe of the Hyatt in Hangzhou having brekkie and blogging at the same time!!! Woohoo!!! (Silly Girl is very excited with all the exclamation points!!!)
What's more, Silly Girl can even chat on Gtalk! No more boring meetings. Banish the post-lunch yawns. Silly Girl can now chat anytime, anywhere with a GPRS signal.
Teeheehee.
Today, Silly Girl is on her 3rd day of yet another work trip. So far, Silly Girl has taken a public bus in Beijing, viewed a 6000 sqft apt overlooking the new Olympic Stadium and with the hefty price tag of 30mn RMB, and toured the new terminal. All in the name of work. Silly Girl does like her job at times like these (but not when she falls ill while travelling).
Silly Girl <3 her Blackberry!
Addendum: For some strange reason this entry didn't get posted so I had to wait till I got back from my work trip. I guess I'm not 100% mobile after all!
Silly Girl
gets on the red-eye to Seoul and finds herself sitting next to an Australian dude. Who snores. Very loudly. Silly Girl gets only 4 hours of sleep the whole night and has to face the prospect of doing 4 meetings the moment she gets off the plane.
Silly Girl rues the day and hates all red-eyes.
Luckily Silly Girl makes it through all the meetings without falling asleep, although she comes really really close in the 2nd meeting. Silly Girl is thankful for the wonder drug of Mother Nature's that is caffeine.
When Silly Girl gets back to the hotel, she enjoys a super yummy beef bulgogi and reaffirms her belief that she absolutely loves Korean food. (And Indian food. And Thai food. And Vietnamese food. And Italian food... Silly Girl has yet to meet a cuisine that she does not like.) Then Silly Girl heads out to Myeongdong and walks about the busy streets of Seoul, enjoying the warm night and the crowds and the sights.
And then, joy of joy, Silly Girl spies a Coldstone Creamery! Silly Girl loves Coldstone Creamery, ever since her college roomie brought her to one in Pasadena. Silly Girl resolves to come back to Coldstone Creamery when she has more space in her tummy and has more pals to share ice cream with, and is thankful that she has 3 nights to spend in Seoul.
On the way back, Silly Girl pops into a Krispy Kreme and orders a chocolate iced, custard-filled donut. The nice lady at the counter throws in a piping hot glazed donut for free. Yippee! Then Silly Girl watches a Korean kiddie choir perform outside City Hall for a bit before heading back.
All in all, Silly Girl's had a good day. :D
Busy busy busy.
Silly Girl has been keeping herself busy and now it's all finally come to fruition.
WHEE! :D
Silly Girl's happy. It's all coming together now.
And here's a couple of BQOTDs:
A: I don't need to picture my good friends stark naked bumping uglies!
You gutter brain, you.
B: I'm celibate.
C: Very funny. And I'm a virgin.
Heh.
Woohoo! Silly Girl is super happy today, for reasons that will remain secret for now.
YAY! HOORAY!
Silly Girl is off to enjoy the weekend. Whee!
:D
Silly
Girl indulges in some retail therapy and gets a great deal! This cheers her up to no end.
Silly Girl decides to add to her expanding collection of earrings and heads off to Wisma Atria where she has spent enough money over the years to qualify for a discount card. It's a good thing Silly Girl is good at mental arithmetic. Otherwise, Silly Girl would never have saved $521. Woohoo! Silly Girl is super pleased at her new buy which now only costs $77.
Retail therapy rocks!
And, Silly Girl is pleased as punch to find out that her favourite sandwich shop is now in town! WHEEEE! Pret has the yummiest sandwiches ever. Whenever Silly Girl goes to HK or London, Silly Girl always makes sure to eat at Pret. Good thing there's a Pret round every corner in London, and a Pret right across the street from her office in HK.
Oh, and Silly Girl now has an icon of her own. It kinda looks like she's peeing or about to pee... Hm. But anyway, thanks to Moo Moo for helping out on the icon!
Silly
Girl forgets to re-register her domain name and renew her account with her webhost. As a result she loses her blog but luckily it was only for 2 days.
Silly Girl is now back up and running. Whee.
Silly
Girl is super sleepy today, and no amount of coffee is helping.
Silly Girl is sitting at her table trying to look like she's busy reading something while in reality she's napping. She's hunched up over the report with her pillow cradling her head so she's super comfy and her neck won't ache when she wakes up. Unfortunately Silly Girl just cut her hair so now her fringe doesn't help cover anything. The only good thing is that Silly Girl doesn't make funny noises in her sleep so at least there's no audible giveaways.
This is what you get when you drive out to MacDonald's for a late night supper :D
Silly Girl does not like the keyboards they have in Barcelona, and thinks that these Spaniards are very sneaky people. It looks like a normal keyboard, but half the keys are swapped around and instead of typing @ Silly Girl keeps typing ". How silly.
And, Silly Girl finds out that Spanish guys aren't half as cute as they're supposed to be. Silly Girl thinks that the Spanish football team should be sued for misrepresentation; the team should be made up of balding, middle-aged men with bellies instead since that describes most of the male population walking around in Barcelona.
The nice thing about Barcelona is that the weather's almost perfect. And, Silly Girl really likes all the Gaudi buildings that are dotted around the city, with 2 just across from her (not-so) majestic hotel. That's a misnomer if Silly Girl ever came across one. Silly Girl doesn't much like her hotel because every night she has to sit on a specific spot on the floor to use her laptop - it's the only part of the room where her power cable and the ethernet cable can reach her laptop. And, Silly Girl doesn't like that her room has no view and no natural light. Silly Girl is solar-powered, you know...
Silly Girl is looking forward to going home. One more day and Silly Girl can say "adios" to Barcelona. Whee!
Today
Silly Girl goes to the London office for the 1st time in 5 years.
Silly Girl has had a great weekend. She manages to hang out with her friends in London, amble around part of the City and even finds time to visit an underground drum & bass club somewhere in the boondocks. She also visits a couple of museums but decides that culture is not really her cup of tea. Silly Girl doesn't much care for tea anyways.
Silly Girl, being a smart girl, also checks out the location of the London office over the weekend, so she doesn't get lost this morning. Silly Girl has to wake up at 7am (Silly Girl does not like this at all) to get into the office this morning in time for a conference call at 0830. What Silly Girl doesn't realise is that she needs a pass to get into the office and the reception desk doesn't open till 0830. Luckily Silly Girl bumps into her boss at the lobby, who kindly brings her in. Else Silly Girl would be stuck wondering around the lift lobbies.
Silly Girl does not like the office in London, because it's totally open-plan. Although Silly Girl has an office assigned to her, everything is made of glass and is totally see-through so everyone can see Silly Girl napping at her table. Silly Girl does not like not being able to nap, especially after lunch. After all, what is the point of having an office if there's totally no privacy?
Tomorrow, Silly Girl is off to Barcelona. Woohoo!
